Yesterday after our CGA class I was chatting with one of my fellow classmates, Sammie Jo.  She's got an acorn in hand and mentions that she loves acorns.  Curiousity gets the best of me, so I ask what makes them special.

Apparently in Peter Pan, the written version, Wendy asks Peter for a kiss.  Peter has no idea what that means, so he gives her an acorn instead.  Wendy doesn't understand the significance of it, but takes it anyway to show her appreciation.  Eventually she makes it into a necklace and wears it.  Later in the story, Tinker Bell in a fit of jealous rage tries to have the Lost Boys knock off Wendy.  One of them shoots an arrow at her and instead of striking her, it hits the acorn instead, saving her life.  (Disney, why are all of these exciting parts to the story missing from your movie?)

Today after work, I went kayaking.  We've got a big lake behind the CGA house.  By big I mean that every house seems to have their own private dock for their boats.  So it's a beautiful day and I've got the afternoon off.  Just seemed like a great time to get out on the water and just enjoy myself and some time hanging out with Jesus.

As I was rowing out, I decided I wasn't going to say anything.  Instead, just be present in the moment.  Listen for anything God would like me to hear.  Listening and watching the animals.  Taking in the scenery.  Escape for an hour or so!

While I'm out in the water, an acorn floats up to the kayak and I pick it up out of the water.

Message received Jesus.
