Haaalllloooo out there! I hope if you're reading this, you're ready for a hodgepodge (fun word to say) of things to be covered over the next few paragraphs. Times are a changin' so its high time to let you all know what's been going on lately and what's just around the corner!
FIRST! I can now officially say that I will be leaving in January for the World Race!!! I need to be in Florida on January 9th to be exact. My account today was updated to reflect the total amount raised this far, and I have now surpassed the $6,500 deadline of December 18th! Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has been a contributor thus for towards this journey. I honestly wouldn't be here without your support in all of this. So I've now reached second base and am blazing towards third base faster than the speed of light already! Based (no pun intended) upon some expected donations, including an incredibly generous one by First United Methodist Church here in Cedar Falls, IA, I have now cleared the halfway point and have less than $7,000 (according to a rough estimate) to go! At this rate, I hope to meet the March deadline of $11,000 before even leaving in January.
SECOND! I have some huge prayer requests right now because although I've met the next deadline, I've got 2 teammates (TEAM MONARCH) and several other squadmates and close friends who aren't there yet. They're working to raise funds right now for the December deadline in just 11 days. Anywhere from a few hundred dollars to about $2,000. So please pray that their financial needs are met in some way, shape, or form and that God would just be present and show up with them over the next 11 days as they work to meet those deadlines. Below are the people (that I know of) who are still working to meet their goals. Click their names to check out their blogs and find out a little more about them. I can't imagine this trip without any of them as each one brings such unique qualities and gifts to this squad that are going to be used to bless that nations we are visiting! The power of prayer is unbelievable and this C Squad has seen so many answerd already in huge ways!
Jesse Morris (Team Monarch) – A few $100
Candice Yates (Team Monarch) – A few $100
JC Cubol – about $2,000
Keeley Jackson – about $1,500
Matt Blair – about $1,000
Alicia Thompson – about $1,500
Janelle Rademaker – Not sure, but still in need of funds.
Johnfrank Dieguez – about $400
Matthew 18:19-20
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
FINALLY! I am now pretty much down to two weeks here in Iowa and even less than that for my current job. My last day is next Friday. 🙁 I'll then make the 10 hour drive back to the Buckeye State for some needed time with the family and any friends still in the neighborhood over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Some time after the new year, I will be departing Ohio to head down to Florida, hitching a ride with my wonderful Grandparents who are heading south for the rest of the winter season. So it'll be great to spend a little more time with them before I'm off for 11 months! I'm not sure that the magnitude of 11 months has hit me yet. Should be an interesting time when it finally does…
