I’ve been back from the World Race for nearly a year now. The past “about me” section has effectively expired and isn’t likely to be all that relevant to the here and now.
So where does this leave me? Trucking head on towards something big. My time at the Adventures office comes to a close at the end of 2013. Exciting and a wee bit scary. I’m ready for what’s next. I feel it in my spirit and I’ve lost count of how many people have told me over the past weeks and months that God has me ready for the next thing. To be patient for His timetable but to also be proactive.
My desires at this point are to combine recreation/leisure, redemption, experiential learning/discipleship, and the Gospel into one big ball of “my future life.” Maybe throw in a little justice on the side. It is my desire to find a place to invest in for the long term.
I think too many things in life are taken way to seriously. We worry too much about getting our ducks in a row so we can have this ideal life and spend most of our time doing it so that when the ducks are all lined up, we’ve missed out on all the great living which could have already been done. (I have a great duck joke by the way.) I believe in living in the freedom that Christ’s death and ressurection bought all of us.
Finally, I’d like to let it be known that I’m not upset over President Obama eating dog. Given the opportunity, I’d try a little Lassie myself as well. For propriety and all.
