On Saturday morning at 9:00, Ben told us that just our team would be leaving for a town called Corabia in an hour and a half. So we ran around, got our things together and jumped on the bus.

After a bumpy hour and a half ride, we arrived at the home of Mircea and Cornelia Dumitru, our ministry contacts for the weekend. We hung out as a team, talked with Mircea and Cornelia, and ate lunch.

After lunch, Mircea and his family took us to the Danube river while we waited for it to cool down. Then we went into town to do some evangelizing. Libby, Liz, Guille and I went with Cornelia to an apartment where very poor families live. We gathered a bunch of kids and sang songs, prayed and acted out David & Goliath (I was David).

Then we went to the park to do more evangelizing, but because it was so hot, only 3 or 4 people were out. So we spent the rest of the evening in the park hanging out and playing frisbee with some of the local kids.

This is where it got interesting. We had to stay the night at another location, so we went back to Mircea's house to collect our stuff and begin what felt like an endless walk to our home for the night.

When we got there, we discovered that the man and his mother who lived in the house didn't speak any English.

But we had 3 beds to share, a refrigerator for the milk we brought for breakfast the next morning, a water basin, and a lovely outhouse in a chicken coop (with toilet paper!)

The next morning, we had a church service in the room Logan and I shared. Including Mircea, Cornelia, and their two kids, there were seven Romanians and seven Americans. Us girls sang a few worship songs, Logan shared her testimony, and Ben preached.

It was a really great experience, getting to be immersed into these people's homes and culture. And I think it was a good preview of what life is going to be like with just my team these next ten months. Please pray for us as we get ready to head to Moldova next week!
