Fasting is an ironic word. There is nothing “fast” about it. Stop eating and watch the phenomena occur. Life slows down, and as it does a wonderful thing starts to happen. Newfound stillness. The kind that allows you to step out of your present condition and start to get an honest look at life.
I started to notice how often I eat out of boredom.
I keep noticing the pie hanging out in our kitchen.
I notice how over-attentive I’ve become with my physical needs, over my spiritual needs.
Today is about fasting. Today is about prayer and stillness because it’s spiritually healthy but also because there are members of this World Race family who are patiently awaiting the Lord’s provision so they can launch with us this July.
Paul was in tune with the beautiful irony of fasting.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
What we have here is a wonderful opportunity for growth. I want to invite you into the fold, into our family, and into our fast because we believe, with sincerity and boldness, that our Lord God is, has, and will provided for us.
Join us! Fast with us the rest of today, and spend the extra time in prayer and celebration.

If you are able, here are those who still have physical needs still to be met. Please bless them in any and every way you are able. Thank you!
