I got so caught up in the joy of blogging that I’ve neglected to properly inform everyone of the details of the trip. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions I’ve received (or dreamed up)–You’re going to want to know this. Why? Because you’re going on the trip with me! It’s your adventure, too! While there’s probably not enough room in my backpack for both of our stuff, know that your role is vital. This is not the journey of one, but many. Ministry was never intended to be singular look at the Trinity: God is His own community. (Therefore I’ll use ‘we’).
Where are we going?
We’re going to 11 countries in 11 months. The list includes: Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, India, Nepal, China, and Mongolia. There was some talk about changing our route (which could still happened), but they didn’t because our route is just. That. Cool.
How much do we have to Raise? By when?
Ultimately, we have to raise $15,500 by 6 months into the trek. There are a couple benchmarks along the way. We’re ahead of schedule, already tagging the first mark. The next goal is $7,500 by June 17(and boy, are we close!)
What happens if the money isn’t raised?
Next plane home… remember the LORD is going to get the glory if we go to 1 country or 11.
Safety: What about that PBS special I saw on pickpockets in India?
If you’re asking this question chances are you already know the answer.
“Safe?”…”Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”-C.S. Lewis
What are we going to be doing?
We are going to be working with and alongside existing missionaries and ministries in the field. Our team will be going in the spirit of Matthew 10: to go to the lost, to proclaim the good news, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to cleanse those who have leprosy and to drive out demons.
How did you decide to do the World Race?
Here is a synopsis of my journey to the World Race: HERE
What does your degree in biology have to do with a life in missions?
A wonderful question. I think I would ask a similar question to a couple fishermen, and a tax collector who grew up to become the 12 disciples (led by a carpenter). It’s not so much the clay as it is the sculptor. Maybe the better question is how can the Lord use what He has already equipped us with?
How can I help?
Pray. This is a step of faith, and the Lord will lead us if will quiet ourselves and listen. I am in need of diligent prayer warriors/intercessors. Please let me know (contact: HERE) if you are interested.

We can chat about life over coffee! It might not seem like much, but sharing life is sharing everything.
