I was under some strange illusion when I first felt the calling to go on this amazing journey that I would have to start relying on God when I left the country. Uh, hello, not the case. I am on month 4 of preparing for the journey and I have had to rely more on Him in the last few months than I have in my entire life! Preparing for a year of traveling is no easy task, and add asking for financial support to that, you're in over your head! But bring it on, because as it turns out, He can handle it!
Here are some of the things that I need for my trip and that I have been able to get thanks to my incredibly supportive friends and family:
My new backpack /closet /pantry /room /first aid kit /life

Chacos- a pair of athletic sandles, possibly the only shoes I will be bringing with me… (okay, so I haven't gotten them yet because they require a special trip, but I will have them soon!)

Shots. Not my favorite thing to purchase or experience, but crucial to the plan if I'm hoping to live through this event.
Nexus Tablet. This splendid lil guy will travel with me everywhere I go in place of a computer and will help me to blog or skype from wherever I am. This was gifted to me by my wonderful friends (shout out to Joy and Brent!!!) who understand that lugging around a full sized computer is heavy and could be a burden.

So what I am trying to say to everyone who is supporting me is this: THANK YOU! YOU ARE MAKING THIS POSSIBLE! I am so blessed.
Oh yea, the support that I've raised thus far has also helped me pay for over 1/3 of my trip! Let me just reiterate… BLESSED
