2014 is about to be here…and I think this is the craziest “new year” for me because I keep thinking about the fact that this is the year I will be leaving for the World Race! It’s so exciting!

This year went by incredibly fast for me, and its cool to think about the fact that I will be leaving in July, and that is only a short 7 months away ๐Ÿ™‚

I ordered some business cards with my blog address and some information about this trip and got them in the mail the other day. I ordered 2000 of them…it seems like a ridiculous amount but vistaprint just kept offering a better deal with the more cards that you bought and I’m a bargain shopper so I thought, why not. One thing I’ve been thinking about the past couple days is that I’m pretty sure with me having 2000 of these cards and giving them out at every opportunity I get, a lot more people are going to access this blog than the people that I have sent my fundraising letter to.

With that being said…I figured I would post my letter up here so if you want to read it, it’s here.

So yeah, here it is.

Dear Friends and Family,

First I want to thank you for taking the time to read this letter! For the past few years I have struggled with trying to find what would make me happy in life. For a long time I thought it would mean getting a degree and a good job as a result. But in the past six months God has given me a new hope that can only be explained by His perfect timing and divine intervention. He has shown me that a steady paycheck will not bring me joy, but resting and delighting in His love will.

I’ve become very fond of the love and peace that comes from being in the Father’s presence and I have a strong urge to share His love with others who need it. God has called me to go out onto the mission field to show people the love and compassion He shows me. I am blessed to be able to live out my calling through a program called The World Race, part of Adventures in Missions. The world race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries, an d I have been accepted to to on the route that leaves in July 2014. The route will take my squad-mates and myself to Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Philippines, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. In theses countries I will get to minister in many different ways such as loving on orphans, feeding victims of natural disasters, planting churches, and sharing the good news of the Gospel with people I encounter along the way.

I am asking you to partner with me in prayer. James 5:16 says that the prayer of a righteous person has great power and I dont take that lightly at all. I ask that you pray for God’s guidance over my life between now and the of this life changing adventure. I am also in need of financial support. The cost of this trip is $16,285 – and while that may seem daunting, I am putting my faith in God that He will provide for me everything that I need. I hope that you will prayerfully consider blessing me financially. If you chose to donate online, you can give a monthly donation or a one-time gift. With monthly donations you chose the amount and the beginning and ending month. To donate online, you can go to my blog (you’re here already haha) and click “support me!” on the left side of the screen. It will take you to a step by step process to donate. All donations are tax deductible. I hope you will consider sharing in this ministry with me.

And know that as i ask you to pray for me, I am praying for you as well. I pray that God blesses everyone who reads this letter. Thank you in advance for you prayers and financial support. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love and blessings,

Sadie

God has truly humbled me through this process of raising support for this trip. When I first thought about doing this, the thought of asking other people for money was so unappealing to me. I wanted there to be a way for me to do this on my own. But it’s kinda like God told me “Silly, the point isn’t for you to do it on your own. It’s to depend on Me.” Duh Sadie!

So if you got through reading all of that, I commend you! And I hope everyone has an awesome 2014 ๐Ÿ˜€

Love ya’ll.
