This is my second day on the World Race and I haven't even left the States yet. My squad is having some much needed final training and bonding time before we take to the skies. We've been camping on the lawn of a seminary; our colorful tent village incongruous against the backdrop of this stately, red-brick campus.
We're having fun though. It's great to just be together again since most of us haven't seen another racer since training camp in May.
I was a little nervous about being trained to be the finance person for my team, but the staff has everything put together in a basic format that makes keeping track of the budget as easy as it can be. My relief barely had time to surface before being pushed aside by a new problem. My computer has been refusing to co-operate with the internet. I was praying God would heal it or bring a simple and cheap solution in soon.
But I know God is good and has worked everything out so far and I have faith that He will continue to take care of me and all my needs according to His riches. And right now my needs seem to include having a laptop that connects to the internet.
It was really hard to say goodbye to my family yesterday morning. It still feels like I'll see them again soon, and I have to keep reminding myself that I won't be going home tomorrow, or next week, or even next month. This is my life now. My squad is my family. And I have God and He is all I need.
The whole squad is here now and it is so good to see everyone. I can't wait to get to Kenya with them on Friday. It's going to be amazing!
And Brian was able to fix my computer! Thank you God! And thank you Brian!
Praise report with my fundraising! So far I have raised
$8,914.00
And I only need
$5,886.00 to be fully funded! Thank you to everyone who has helped me get this far!
