Dear Family and Friends,
As some of you may know, a few years ago I took a leap of faith, dropped everything & left the security of my job and family in pursuit of something more. I left my hometown of Fayetteville, NC and moved to Atlanta, GA. I did not know what that “something more” was then, only that I needed to go.
This decision turned out to be a blessing. I found a job & the strength to survive on my own. Over time, again I started to feel that stirring in my spirit. After much prayer seeking to learn what that feeling was, God continuously placed this scripture on my heart “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). So over the past year, through growing in my faith I began to see when I implemented this into my daily life, great things happened as I turned more areas of my life over to God; and when I didn’t & relied on my own works, I fell short.
So I am choosing to trust God. I am choosing to tell the world how big God is. I am choosing to ask and encourage others to process what great things God wants to do through them. For me, in this season of life, the answer to that question is The World Race. I am excited to announce I have been accepted to go on The Race in January 2015!!!
What is The World Race?
The World Race is a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. On The Race, participants share the gospel, show God’s love amongst orphans, work with local ministries, minister to sex trafficking victims and call the lost out of bondage from a host of ills. The World Race is a program of the Non-Profit mission organization, Adventures in Missions (AIM), and since its founding, AIM has sent over 100,000 short-term missionaries around the globe. Setting out in teams of six to eight, World Racers partner with local ministries in various countries to help further the gospel. Whether helping at an orphanage in Swaziland, working in a café for former trafficking victims in Thailand, spreading the gospel at base camps in Nepal, or helping missionaries in Latvia, Racers will spend their days being the hands and feet of various things God is doing around the globe.
Where am I going?
I will be going to India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Latvia, Estonia, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia & Vietnam!
So how can you come with me?
PRAYER
My team and I are going to need people praying for us continually throughout this journey. Praying for the people that we meet, that God would go before us and prepare them for His message. Praying against the lies (John 8:44) and accusations (Revelation 12:10) that the devil is likely to throw at us. Praying for protection as we travel. Praying that the Lord would move within everyone on this journey, that we would not come back the same. Praying that above all else, God would be glorified through it all.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. I need to raise a total of $16,242. This amount covers travel, food, lodging, and medical insurance. As I processed how much I have to raise, I was reminded that I worship a God who brought Noah through the storm, led the Israelites by fire, rained down manna for sustenance, sent His son to die on the cross for my sins and conquer death on the third day, used 12 ordinary men to change the world with the message of the gospel, and so much more! I believe if God called, God will provide, and He will use His people to do so. I cannot do this on my own this is why I humbly ask that you partner with me by making an investment in the Kingdom with a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated; simply click on the “Support Me!” link on the left hand side.
Thank you in advance for being a source of immense blessing in my life through your prayers and financial support!
