Ok, a little about me. I was born in “Hot-lanta” on December 15, 1977, I say Hot-lanta because my mom said it was snowing when she was on the way to the hospital with me, which is probably the last time it snowed in Atlanta. At 3 months my family moved to Lenoir City, TN. The Tennessee valley is still home to me because I love the mountains, rivers, and laid back country folk. The Great Smokey Mountains are my great escape from this world and its trivial worries. I hope to take that same humble approach with me on The World Race.
Over the last couple of years Jesus has taken the focus off of me and put it on Him. I didn’t realize how consumed I was with myself until I got into the Word and started to see what the Lord was doing in my life and how I could use that to help others. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above.”
It’s only because of the grace of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that I have anything worth sharing with others.
Now for some random facts:
I have realized that the transition from everyday life to The World Race has had its ups and downs. Putting down the “Blackberry” lifestyle and selling everything I own that used to be important to me has proved to be refreshing. I realize now what the Lord was talking about in Matthew 10:39 when Jesus says, “Whoever finds his life will lose it and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” I know that giving up a year of my life in order to share Jesus with a lost and dying world is the best sacrifice I could ever give.
