Leaving on a New Adventure with O Squad:
Well It’s almost 4 am in the morning and the world race round 2 has officially begun. I know it’s begun because all 53 of us O squad peeps left for the airport around 12am and are now sleeping all over the airport in their sleeping bags until it’s time to board the plane to head to the Dominican Republic!
I am so excited and feel so blessed to embark on this new adventure with these 52 amazing people. They are hungry to go and change the world, but what makes it even more exciting is that as much they want to change the world, they even have a deeper longing and calling to be changed themselves. They are leaving their families, their friends, their jobs, and the luxuries of America to go out into the nations in a radical way for 11 months. They will travel to 11 separate countries because each of them have been touched with a love that has changed their lives from the inside out. They have heard the whisper and they have felt the call to go and to discover that they have been created for MORE!

Friends and family back home have been asking me what countries I am most excited for? Even though I will be going to 4 new countries that I have never been to before, I’m honestly not that exited about going to them. I didn’t sign up and accept the invitation and call to squad lead to go on the world race again, but I am going to help steward and inspire a generation of young people that have been called to change the nations by the change that has and will continue to happen from within them. A girl from my squad asked myself and the two other squad leaders I am leading with what we were excited most about going back out on the race? I prayed about and asked The Lord and heard this phrase instantly repeat within my heart, “Their the reason for the season!.”
I know what your thinking, “That’s a Christmas slogan that we use to remember Jesus at Christmas time.” Yes that is true and Jesus is absolutely the reason for the season of Christmas! Well these 50 world racers that I have been blessed to help lead and serve, are the reason for my season of choosing and accepting the call to go back out to the nations on the world race. They are my reason for this life changing adventurous season that I am embarking on. O squad is why I am going back out on the world race into the nations. Yes I can’t wait to meet the amazing people in the countries that we are going to, but O squad is the main priority and reason for the season!
I don’t have children and these 50 world racers are definitely not children, but I have a deep love for them that I can’t really explain. I can’t explain to you how much I believe in them and how much I see Christ in them! I am so blessed to be a coach, mentor, older brother, and friend to them. I am so blessed to have been invited and chosen to be one of the squad leaders for O squad.
My prayer is that God will use me to impart in them everything that He has taught me and that I would be a vessel to inspire them and awaken them to their destiny and true callings in Christ; to help them come truly alive in knowing, believing, and experiencing the sonship and daughter-ship that they have in their Father’s heart.
“So God I pray have your way and let your Kingdom come and your will be done in all of our hearts and lives. ”
So we head off to the Dominican Republic in a couple of hours….to change the nations with the change that God has done and is continuing to do within our hearts and souls.
I’m getting back on that roller coaster and heading up the hill…..HERE WE GO!!!
