There are some things that only men can do. But before you label me a chauvinistic bigot, allow me to explain. This is now the end of month 9 on my World Race and we are with a ministry called Zion’s Gate just outside Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Our contact here has taken street kids, yes kids that grew up living on the streets of Honduras, and brought them into his home to live with him. Some say he’s crazy and that he’s wasting his time with these boys, but I’ve spent the last month with him and I can say that is the farthest thing from the truth. However, he desperately needs help; and he NEEDS MEN. There is no way around it. There is only one of him and there are at least 6 boys/young men living with him currently. He only has so much time to give and time to disciple. We spent some time together yesterday and Tony told me that if he could get a group of four or five guys to come to Honduras and live with him and the boys for six months to a year and spend 24/7 with the boys spending time with them, discipling them, learning with them, showing them what it means to live a life for Christ, this ministry could really take off. The boys are showing a lot of potential for growth, they just need discipleship! Would you consider praying about this opportunity? Could God be calling you to live in Honduras with kids that grew up on the streets, teaching them about Jesus, loving them despite all of their baggage and making an eternal investment in the kingdom?
