It’s a new month, and a fresh start! My
team and I arrived in Uganda last week, and we have begun our new
ministry for month number 7. This month we are partnering with
“Christ Ambassadors Church”, it overseas three different
ministry’s, the church, a school (called “Champions”), and a
program called “Catch Them young”. We are working in all 3
ministry’s this month, helping in any way possible. At the church
we are preaching, leading small groups, teaching bible classes, and
encouraging future pastors in a leadership program. At the Champions
primary school we are teaching children english, science, math, and
physical education. With Catch Them Young, one of my teammates and
myself are helping organize the program, create a website,
promotional brochure to help spread the word about this amazing
program. The program takes kids off the streets and rescues children
from death and provides a warm nurturing home that they are loved,
cared for, educated, and feed spiritually. This is not an orphanage.
The pastor and his wife adopt all of the kids and call them there
children and the children call them mom and dad! The children are
encouraged to be confident, and to find self worth. And are raised in
a strong Christian home. I am excited to help with the development of
this ministry, for once on this trip I feel like my talents, and
skills are being used in a ministry setting. We are all excited to
be here this month and enjoying the lovely heat of Uganda! Next week
we will be going on an all squad retreat to go white water rafting on
the Nile River in class 5 rapids, and also go bungee jumping on the
nile river. I am very excited/ nervous about this. The other day I
asked someone if I would fall out of the boat at all? In response he
laughed and said…”It’s not a question of if you will fall out of
the boat, but rather how many times will you fly out of the boat!”
Sounds like a blast, and an adventure. I can’t wait to share more and
post pictures!
Love you all
Ryan
