This past week my mind has been blown.
And i’m still trying to figure out what the hell to do about it.
If i’m honest, I have not been anxiously pursuing the heart of Christ recently…
especially through reading the Bible.
It’s hard for me to read it.
I’m not a reader and somehow i have let that allow me to become indifferent towards
the big book.
I let dust collect on the same words
that just so happened to have spoke me into being.
It makes no sense
and borderline makes me cringe as I type that out.
I decided to pick it up this last week…
only because I was asked to speak at a high school group on Wednesday
and I felt guilty that I hadn’t spent time with the Lord in forever…
and that I probably should if I was going to get up and share about Him.
Little did I know my mind was going to be blown.
I was chillin in the book of John and I got to the part where Jesus was peacing out
and he goes “I’m leaving you to go to the Father….
but if you believe in me then you will do as I do.
You will do even greater things than I have done.” (John 14:12)
Okay so that’s freaking huge as it is.
But it didn’t stop there.
I continued on and I got to the last book in John.
to the very last verse.
This is what it says…
“And there are also many other things that Jesus did,
if they were written in detail,
I suppose that the world itself would not be able to hold
all of the books that would be written.” (John 21:25)
I’m sorry what?
Read it again.
Look it up in your bible if you need to.
Freaking ridiculous.
I’ve never read a verse that shakes me in such a manor.
Combine the two….. my mind is blown.
Jesus is saying YOU WILL DO EVEN MORE THAN I HAVE DONE
and then John is chill saying a few chapters later
that if all the things that Jesus did was written down
there would be so many freaking books in the world that we’d
basically all be swimming through books because there wouldn’t be enough room.
Granted, John may be borderline dramatic and just trying to put it into terms that
crazy people like us can comprehend….
but no matter how you take that verse…
Jesus did a freaking ton in just in 33 years of his life on earth.
Not only that but we are MORE than capable to do the exact same things that Jesus did on earth…
if not more.
He was one man.
He left and his Spirit came down and spread among all of us believers….
It’s not a cute fancy term saying that we are the body of Christ.
We as Christ followers (or the overused watered down term of “Christians”)
are literally the body of Christ himself.
He sent His spirit to blow us up
and empower us to do insane things in His name!
What the heck are we waiting for.
God has a TON of plans for us
and for the rest of the world
If we just embrace that we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
Although we are sick flesh and messed up
and easily swayed by freaking lucifer himself
the Lord has FAVOR on us
and wants to use us to do crazy things in His name.
I have seen them with my own two eyes.
I have seen a crippled man get up and walked.
and a crazy demon possessed woman be set free from her oppression
and receive Christ right in that moment.
Yeah that sounds crazy.
I’m not a crazy girl.
but it’s truth.
We are in a day that the Lord is still moving and showing off how incredible he is.
I am not a skeptic anymore.
I saw it with my own two eyeballs.
I have seen many more miracles too.
The fact that He saved me is a freaking miracle.
I literally deserve to be no where near close to the Lord…
but he took care of that with Christ’s blood
and sees me as pure.
He took my sick flesh and transformed me into a purified vessel
to do HUGE THINGS for his glory.
Jesus healed the blind.
We are to heal the blind.
Jesus healed the crippled.
We are to heal the crippled.
Jesus loved on the prostitutes
we are to love on the prostitutes
Jesus clung to the widows and orphans
we are to cling to the widows and orphans
Jesus DIED FOR US.
We are to be willing to die for Him.
He raised the freaking dead.
He wept for the hurting.
He embraced the lepers.
He ate at the houses of those who hurt his heart the most.
He loved on people who hated him.
He turned water to wine.
He fed the hungry.
He clothed the cold.
He calmed the storm when people were terrified.
He called people out of their oppression.
He simply spoke truth and thousands upon thousands stopped dead in their tracks and turned their lives around.
Just by touching His freaking cloak a woman was healed.
He multiplied a ton of food for hungry people.
He never stopped.
Of course he was fully man so he got tired
and was tempted in every single way that we were
but he TRUSTED the plan of the Father.
I’m sure there were days he wanted to pull the covers over his head when the rooster crowed…
but he obeyed.
strapped his little sandals on and went out to seek lost.
I desire a heart like His.
We are to trust that the Lord is GOOD
and wants to use us.
He is good.
He is here to prosper us
and not to harm us.
To give us an insanely great future.
He is so freaking good.
And made us in his image
and we are to blow up his name
not just chatting about it in mediocre Sunday school meetings
but having insane faith that
“bible times” can happen now.
That we are to do as He did.
That we are powerful in His name.
So, let’s do it.
