Instant coffee is somehow delicious.
You get pumped about running water.
You let anyone cut your hair.
Lice is normal.
Gorgeous views seem like every day life.
You go in public looking ridiculous.
Peanut butter is a treat.
Everyone stares at you.
Anything can seem like a form of transportation if your tired.
You wait til the last possible moment to do laundry.
You have a love hate relationship with the mirror.
You share music and videos like its your job.
You hoard chocolate bars for a rainy day.
You name your backpack.
People give you many compliments on your looks after a minor thing such as a shower.
You can sleep ANYWHERE… i mean anywhere.
You eat every meal like its your last.
You complain about your body due to the last one.
“Alone time” could mean turning your back to your team and blasting your Ipod.
You fight with your team like they are your siblings… sometimes physically 😉
You see a white person and immediately think they are American, and in result- think they’re your best friend.
You jump up and down when you find your favorite shampoo brand.
You speak in a ridiculous accent with anyone that doesn’t speak english…. note to self… they STILL don’t understand
even with an accent.
“If the water is clean.. you can drink it.” and “If you don’t see bugs.. it’s fine” become everyday quotes.
Taking your malaria pill turns into a game.
It’s normal to only shower every 5 days.
Baby wipes save your life.
You discuss anything and everything over dinner.
All you have to say is “blow out explosives” and people will know to stop drinking the water.
it’s okay to go to bed at 8pm and no one judges you.
You brush your hair and feel like a million bucks.
Friends get engaged.. and married while you are still gone.
You bargain in the market just because you can.
You can fit 18 people in a 5 seater car.
Your bank is constantly worried that your card has been stolen.
You are obsessed with Qatar airlines and all their luxuries.
You have no idea what fashion/ music / movies are cool back home anymore… nor do you care.
You learn to love feedback.
Everyone else on the plane hates the party you’re having with your 42 best friends.
You know every single person on the bus.
Your body craves fruits and veggies.
You are given a time for ministry and you add two hours to it and you are all set.
You’re afraid to be alone since it has been so long since its happened.
You see an entire family on a motorcycle.
End of the month feels like a huge family renuion getting together with the squad.

You get rid of things at the monthly “Swap Party” with everyone on the squad.

You miss your family so bad it hurts.
You have to get on your face daily in front of the Lord or you will epically fail.
Satan messes with you daily.
Crying is a weekly sometimes daily occurrence.
You fall in love with every single face you see.
The Lords provision is tattooed on your heart.
You fall more in love with the Lord every single day.
You love your life more than ever.
Even if you fight it… you will never ever be the same.
