Wednesday, December 28 was my beautiful mother’s birthday. I was unable to call her or get to internet that day, so I wanted to send a shout out now:
Mama,
I love you SO much! I would not be here in the middle of South Africa on this amazing 11 month mission trip if not for your incredible guidance, wisdom and love in my life.
I admire the fight in you.
You fight for your kids to be the best and to follow their dreams. You fight for your marriage, even though it may be the hardest thing you have done. You fight for kids without parents and give them a safe place to come for advice, food or just a place to cry. You fight in worship to your heavenly Father…you forget the trouble of the world and lose yourself in His love.
The example and the hope you bring to me and to so many others amaze me.
It has helped shape me into the woman I am today. I am now able to bring hope to others because of the hope you instilled in me. I can now bring love to others because of the love you invested in me. I can now fight for the poor and needy because you fought for me.
So, thank you. I am so blessed by you and I miss you so very much! Thank you for allowing me to do this risky, long, far-away trip knowing that you can trust God’s plans for my life.
HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!!
Love,
Ruthie
