In worship on Sunday evening, we sang Open The Eyes Of My Heart. As we sang “Holy Holy Holy” I was praying for the city of Laredo Peru. During that time Jesus gave me a vision of a giant gumball machine being broken open and thousands of colorful gumballs spilled all over the city. It was bright, joyful and exciting. It brought life and light to the dark places of the city. Now let me tell you the significance of this picture…

Ministry looks very different this month. Last month we were extremely busy and worked very hard physically. Here in Laredo we have a very flexible schedule and our contacts want us to be creative with the time we have. It has been very hard at times to be motivated. I have sensed a pattern of tiredness and lack of motivation in this city. Something about it is lifeless and lethargic. (Our contacts certainly are not this way and it has been encouraging to see the way they go out into their city to bring Christ). Many of us have sensed the oppression and it is almost always cloudy here. This place needs bubble gum….er…life!!

We have been in Laredo, Peru almost a week now and have spent most of our time with the youth of the church. We love them already. We are also working with another team from my squad (Lamp Lighters) this month and it has been wonderful getting to know them.

I aint scared to be crazy! haha Me and Bryan..He is part of the youth of the church.

Please be praying for my team and team Lamp Lighters as we get to heavily rely on the Spirit for direction and guidance these next few weeks. Please also pray for health, energy and passion for our work here. We plan to put some programs together to perform in the public parks (worship, skits, food, etc) and may also do some door to door evangelism, clean up the city, do sidewalk art ministry and cook for our contacts.

It is exciting to see God at work in different ways and in different places around the world. I believe we are here in Laredo to bring energy and passion back. To energize the church so that they may continue to bring zeal to their neighbors. To bring life and excitement that only Jesus can truly provide. I am honored to be a part of His story!

YO QUIERO MAS!! (I WANT MORE JESUS FOR THIS PLACE!!!)
