Sorry it has been awhile since I posted! Our schedule is quite busy here and we are working very hard! I wanted to give you some pictures to see what I have been up to since my last post! Enjoy 🙂

Breaking ground for the new church! This was exciting to watch how much a machine can move in a couple hours. This may have taken us all month with our picks and shovels.

This is Pastor Fernando, our main contact. He is there every day helping us build his new church. He has prayed and waited 20 years for this! Btw, this is only about half the amount that we actually dug.

This is our view from the worksight. A constant reminder of why we are here. We are buildng a church, whose foundation is Jesus Christ. It is on a hillside and will be a beacon of hope to many…and many will stream to it.

Twice a week we teach English to our Ecuadorian familia. We are learning lots of Spanish too!

Every night we get to go to a different family's house for dinner. This is Luis and Mary. This has been a huge blessing and an incredible way to get to know this culture. We sit and visit before and after dinner and then my team prays for them. This may be one of my favorite parts of each day.

Hahaha. We got to go to a baby shower last week. It was probably the best baby shower ever. It was great fun and they included all the gringos in their games. Here, my teammate Joshua is racing the father of the new baby. Whoever changes the baby's diaper and clothes the fastest wins. Joshua won! It was hilarious.

It's always important to stay nourished while working….and also have some fun. 🙂

One weekend they took us away to the Jungle and we lived one night like the swiss family Robinsons. Basically, we caught, beheaded, plucked, cooked and ate our own chicken. We slept in a treehouse-esk home, milked a cow, ate oranges right off the tree, and had some awsome acapella worship time.

This little boy, Eliseo, has stolen all our hearts. He is the oldest son of Johanna. She cooks for us ever AM and Lunchtime. He runs and hugs us all the time and renews my energy every time. Love him.

Our team has gotten to take alot of time to bond. Our contacts asked how long we knew each other before this. Nine days? I dont think they believe us. It does feel like years.

We got to paint rocks and lay them in the cornerstone of the foundation before we pured cement. It really made us feel a part of this church and we all cant wait to see when it is finished.

This our 6 foot holes and 3 foot trenches filled with concrete! This was all done by hand…meaning we mixed the concrete with shovels, filled buckets with the concrete, then passed it down a line to be poured in the hole. Something s satisfying to do this by hand. Gotta love 3rd world construction!

This is me: happy and so confident that I am exactly where God wants me. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
