It’s official. I’m staying here in Mindinao for a bit longer. God’s pull on my heart was just too strong – I couldn’t leave. So after seeking the Lord’s council and the advice of my wonderful teammates, Amy and Lynette, I’ll be stickin’ around til October 5th. I’m still not 100 percent sure why God called me to stay here, but He is beginning to give me some insight. However, that’s a whole ‘nother blog. Anyway, I also plan on continuing the work of our world race team by exploring different ministry opportunities. I know All The World Outreach Church, that’s the name of the ministry I’m at, has 1600 satelite churches on this island, so I’d like to find a few that could accomedate some teams.

In the meantime I’m loving it here, living and hangin’ out with the Bible school students has truly been a blessing. Get this, Tuesday thru Friday we get up at REAL STINKIN’ EARLY for our 5:30 worship service and prayer time. It’s shocking to me how much passion these guys and gals have that early!

Once we wrap up, which is usually around 6:15, I try to get in a little quiet time with the Lord while students take care of their daily chores. From what I’ve seen these include sweeping, cleaning, really anything that needs to be done around the compound. Then breakfast at 7, followed by our first class at 8. I usually take the middle of the morning off to make my run to Mickey D’s with Bishop Tommy Smith for the best sausage egg McMuffin I’ve ever eaten. Then it’s back to campus for our 11 o’clock class on Divine Healing which is taught by Pastor Kelli Gordon. Let me tell ya’ll, I’ve learned more about the Bible in two or three days than really ever before in my life. So don’t be surprised to see a quite a few new posts over the next week:)

Most afternoons are spent doing outreach in the community. Wednesday we went to a boys youth home. The kids here are locked up for crimes ranging from drugs to rape. Basically, we share our stories and experiences, feed them the Word of God and then feed them some snacks.

Then in the evenings we make our way to one of the church member’s home for Bible study. I can’t begin to tell ya’ll how freakin’ blessed I’ve been. God continues to pour tremendous amounts of wisdom and knowledge in me. I almost can’t take it all in. To be honest, being at this Bible school has been an answer to a prayer. I’ve been asking God to teach me more, and now here I am. It may be a foretaste to my future – who knows. I’m just trying to walk this path one day at a time.
