Hello all! Tomorrow Lynette, Amy and I are flying down to an island in the Philippines called Mindinao. Apparently it’s a not a cool place for Americans to be hanging out in. In fact, before I even stepped foot in the Philippines a lady on the plane over from Bangkok said, “You should be fine in the Philippines unless you go to Mindinao.” Great! Then when I tell the locals that’s where I’m going they usually grimace and then ask to make sure they heard me right, “YOU are going to Mindinao??” Word is quite a few Muslim extremists live up in this place, however our contact down there says the place we’re staying is safe. Now, I know our godliness will lead us forward and the glory of the Lord will guard us from behind (Isa. 58: 7-11), but it’s always good to have a bunch of folks praying for us. So if ya’ll think about it, just throw some prayers for protection our way.
Anyway, here’s some pictures of what we’ve been doing the past week. It’s been eventful, we celebrated Amy’s birthday by ice skating and catching a movie at the IMAX. Then we spent some time researching ministry contacts in and out of Manila. And today we just got back from Puerta Galera. It’s this sweet tropical island just off the coast that could be a good debrief location for future world race teams.
