I’m going to be absolutely blunt here, I need $3000 before the 17th. I’m not going to beg, but I will try to reason with you, I figure putting it out there like this will at least get people thinking about why or why not to help me put. Here are six reasons to help me out.
First, for all you friends and family who are not Christian, I’m not going to shove my beliefs down people’s throats. That’s not how I was raised, I am going to be sharing my story with those who are interested. If they’re not interested, I’ll move on to a different topic. I’m not going to up and leave because they don’t want to hear it, but I will be respectful.
Second, I’m going to listen to their stories. I don’t want a one way conversation, I want an exchange of stories and ideas.
Third, I’ll be building relationships with them. No one wants to share a story with someone they just met, they want some trust and respect before they’ll actually want to listen.
Fourth, its an awesome experience that most people my age aren’t going to do. I’ll probably come back changed, hopefully positively, and be a better person to those I meet.
Fifth, its not actually that large a sum, especially if a large amount of people donate. You could consider it part of your tithe if you wanted to, or just a nice gesture for those of you who want to go but can’t.
Sixth… I don’t actually have a sixth point, I just felt better ending on a even number. So help me out if you want to. Its really up to God whether I go now, but I have to ask. I can’t just sit and pray, though I’ll do that too.
