Our ministry in the philippines was amazing. Our team worked with a university here and visited classrooms of 3rd-5th graders, high school, as well as college students. we were to put on a 3 day event all together as a squad. It consisted of different stations or workshops including beauty for ashes, testimonies, preaching, games, and creative worship.

We had the unique opportunity to just hang out with the students and get to know them personally, hear their stories, and share a little of our own leading up to the event.

I had the opportunity to be a part of the creative worship workshop. I have been passionate about this for some time now, but getting the chance to stand in front of a room of 50-20 students and tell them my story was amazing. For one, I don;t enjoy public speaking, and two, I had no idea how they would recieve such an outside of the box view on worship. This meant leaning on the Lord each day and asking him to take it, because they didn;t need anything that I had to offer,  but they did need what God had in store for them.

We spoke on creative prayer, dance, painting, sports, and the many different ways you can give what God has made you passionate about up to him as a form of worship. We had a time for questions after, and didn;t get much of a response. If I;m being honest it made me Wondering if what we were doing in our little workshop made any difference at all.

Day two came around, and I kept hearing from either students or fellow squad mates how creative worship had inspired them or had changed their view of the Lord. He delights in our times of joy and fun, especially if that is given back to glorify him. I think it’s so easy to get in this view of God as simply all powerful, all loving, but not fun or creative. The lord was the master of both. He delights in it. He delights in his creation. I just love it so much. How blessed are we that we serve a God that loves us so?

we made so many connections this month, and met some amazing kids.

I know that my squad and I learned so much and took away amazing things that the Lord showed us in our time in the Philippines, and I’m so excited to share this in ZimbabwE. if you’re wondering how to pray for us as a squad, we just went through team changes and are entering a new continent and culture all together. Though we’re all excited, this will be a time of growth and stretching in each of us. Thank you everyone for the prayers, I feel them all the time. God is good!
