The BIG question for myself and what I get asked from others is….
What's Next?
I'm not quite sure, I thought about it during the last 11 months. But at the same time I didn't want to lose focus of what the Lord gave me in the moment. I noticed how other racers focused on the next part of their life and how they missed out on what God wanted to use them in the moment.
Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path".
Abraham, Moses, Joseph are a few examples of Psalm 119:105. The Lord declared to them their purpose and goal but when it came to getting to those markers, he said follow me. I am sure none of them thought the path the Lord had for them was exactly what they expected but they followed him. They took it day by day, such as Moses who followed the cloud by day and fire by night.
The calling on my life is working with people and speaking into their lives. I am hoping to gain more experience with teenagers and then becoming a international motivational speaker. I'm not sure how to get to those points in my life, but I know that the Lord has blessed me with the gift to speak into people's lives. My desire is to build up young people into being the body of Christ and reaching out to others as they are equipped in the word of God.
Frequently Asked Questions
Favorite Country?
- This has numerous factors: contact, ministry and scenery. I had amazing contacts who taught me a lot through their wisdom and encouragement.
As far as ministry, I would say Cambodia because we worked with teenagers and I loved it so much. That is also the country I got lice.
The best scenery would be the following: Ireland, Nepal and Lesotho but their is only one winner and it is Lesotho.
Best and Worst Food?
- I really enjoyed Thailand and Cambodian food. I miss having cheap delicious fresh fruit. I was not a fan of the food in Moldova. However, they also had delicious fruit and biscuits.
Boyfriend?
- No, I didn't become a missionary and travel the world to find a husband.
Full Time Missionary?
- I don't think that is what the Lord has planned for me, but I am willing to do whatever He calls me to do.
Weirdest Food That You Ate?
- I ate a fried snake in Cambodia and it tasted like bacon. In China, I ate donkey meat and frog in the same day.
Would You Do It For A 2nd Time?
- I wouldn't because the race was for a season and I couldn't recreate the experience I had with T-Squad. Through the up's and down's they are my race family and I couldn't imagine doing it again without them. It was a great experience, I grew a lot in the last 11 months but the time has come to say goodbye to that part of my life and move on.
Favorite Moments?
- Worshipping as a community singing rather than someone leading worship in Romania. It was an authentic genuine worship as a community onto the Lord.
- In Ireland, I and a few others planned a fashion show for the girls on the squad and it was so much fun to see everyone get so creative with the limited resources we had. Also being called out by Autumn to write and perform a spoken word because I never knew I had that ability.
- We lived in a church/orphanage in India and I fell in love with those girls. Saying goodbye to them was one of the hardest goodbye's I ever had to say. It is one of my favorite moments because it made me realize that relationships can be built though verbal communication is nonexistent.
- In Nepal, Mary and I cried over drinking milkshakes when realizing we wouldn't be on a team together anymore. It made me realize to appreciate those I care about and love me regardless of my mess.
- Christmas in Swaziland was the BEST Christmas EVER! Squad Christmas activities but most of all being with these orphans as they open their gifts!
- Singing and Dancing with the Lesotho people during church service.
- Learning how to break dance by B-Boys in Thailand, so that we may build relationships with them.
- Water fight with the teens and kids in Cambodia instead of teaching English.
- While in China, we met Josephine and we went to a night market with her. Someone decided to pretend that she is famous and run after her screaming and taking pictures with her and asking for her autograph. It was a minute into playing it off, that she was surrounded by Chinese people taking pictures with her and asking her for her autograph. So funny!
