Missions. Yes I’ve been on a few for 5 years to be exact with an organization called Kingdoms Kids Ministry. I knew that He wanted me to do missions BUT (as you read my Redemption story) I got lost.
Present day.It was a normal Sunday. I went about my daily work in the nursery and then preparing to interpret for the deaf during the 10:45 am service. It was a normal Sunday. Little did I know that I was going to have an “AHA” moment.
10:45 service. Worship is amazing. The Spirit moves. Pastor Andrew gets up to preach and I get to switch with the other interpreter and get ready to interpret.
Message. Missions. BAM! Something tugs at my heart. But I do not linger, I keep interpreting. Pastor Andrew continues to preach about missions. BAM BAM BAM!!! Now I know Someone was trying to get my attention. I keep interpreting. [Side Note: For those of you who do not know, as an interpreter we are taught to keep our personal feelings aside and become the speaker.]
Emotions. I try to focus on the message for my deaf audience. The tears come to my eyes, my hearts starts beating like a thousand horses are galloping by and I start trembling from head to foot. Mind you, I was standing up and interpreting.
The Call. As Pastor Andrew in his conclusion of his message states, “God is calling some of you right now to missions. Will you answer the call?” And immediately, I heard Isaiah 6:8 in my heart, ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Why the World Race? Simple. Just like the disciples of old, I will go from town to town, nation to nation sharing the good news to those who will listen. This is a race, a race against time.
