We are in Rwanda! I have not been sent home, but I didn’t meet the fundraising deadline either. I am still $3500 away from being fully funded and without your support I can’t stay on the field. Please consider how you can help me by sharing this blog post and/or making a donation. Any amount helps! Thanks to those who have continually supported me financially and prayed with and for me.
It feels like I am continually asking for support to stay on the field. For people who don’t have a friend/child doing the race it’s hard to understand its purpose. I know for some it seems as though a bunch of people are traveling together, spending a month together in different countries and having fun. Yes there is fun and yes we are traveling together, but there is a bigger picture. This is not only an opportunity for us as the ones traveling, it’s an opportunity for the people we meet and how we impact them and God’s kingdom. Looking back from month one, we were a bunch of people thrown together with no common interests besides our love for Jesus. But even with that as our only common factor, we have been able to reach so many and experience more than I ever thought possible. I’ve seen God use us to tell people exactly what they needed to hear at the exact right time. I’ve seen people healed, people experiencing breakthrough, people on their knees worshipping, people being saved and much more. I don’t mean to be pleading my cause, but your support makes all this possible. It makes it possible for me to build relationships with the locals, for me to love a child who’s never been held or felt loved. It makes it possible to pray for someone who’s been hurt and seeking some sort of comfort, and to build community.
Since my last post, we have changed teams and I have 3 new teammates along with Brittany from my last team. Brittany is our new team leader and she is doing great so far. A lot of thought and prayers from leadership go into team changes. Part of the reason we change team is because after 4 months of being with the same people, we become close and we tend to not see each other’s blind spots anymore. We still grow and are able to learn from each other, however it is more efficient to be with people who can challenge us and not be biased because they know us.
I love 4:31 influence (my old team) and I miss them each in different ways. However, I am very excited to be challenged in new ways and grow closer in relationship with SLTN (new team). I wanted this blog to be some introduction to the people I am going to spend the next season with.
Disclaimer: Sam took all this note about us and plans to post it as part of her future blog. I’m simply sharing the information
Without further ado, here is my team in no particular order. Please pray for us, that the Lord would be in our midst always and that we would grow in our walk with God and each other. Britt isn’t feeling the best either so, pray for supernatural healing.
