So I said goodbye to Honduras and hello to Guatemala, after a 20+ hours travel day, motion sickness and two border crossing. We arrived for first month debrief in beautiful Antigua. We are in month 2 on the race and it’s all squad month.
First week was mostly debrief and just spending a lot of time unpacking everything that we’ve learned over the last month in Honduras. The Lord has just been doing so much and it’s amazing.
All squad month mainly means spending time with the whole squad instead of with just our teams. We pray together, worship together and seek Jesus together. We do squad adventure days together and it’s been fun. For one of our morning devotionals we got to go to “Cerro de la Cruz”. There we listened to one of our team leaders share about spending time with the Holy Spirit. She invited us to go to the secret place where the Holy Spirit is always waiting. We took communion together and watched smoke coming out of one of the 3 active volcanoes in Guatemala.
That same afternoon we hiked the Pacaya, an active volcano and roasted marshmallow at the end. This was a challenging hike it was about 3 hours long both ways and about an hour drive to and from there. Being able to experience the view with my team was all worth it but it was even greater to experience the wonders of God. Just when I think I can’t possibly find something more awe inspiring, He shows me how wrong I am.
Walking the streets of Antigua, I got to see all sorts of things, try different types of foods, and just experience things that otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to experience. I’m so thankful to everyone who has been supporting me, because without you I wouldn’t have been here.
I’m asking for prayers and continued support. I still need to raise $5,574 to be fully funded, but I only need to raise a little over $1,600 by November 30th to be able to stay on the race. If you can help in any way please do, if you know anyone looking to donate please share this with them. Thank you so much for everything.
