Hey Everyone,

Sorry I’ve been away for a while but we have been hiking the Camino in Spain. It’s day three and nothing is go right it seems. How can something you be so sure of not be working out like you thought? High expectations? Doubt on your part? Maybe it’s even discomfort because of your new situation? Whatever it is there is a valid reason why you feel that way. We have hiked almost 50 miles in three days and have so much more to go. Complaining starts to set in because of how brutal it is to hike this long, brutal path for three weeks. Blisters on feet, back pain, shoulder pain, you name it I got it.

I think that’s where I’ve been upset and getting angry is asking why God he would put me through this when he knows I hate hiking or walking long distances. It’s not fun. It’s not enjoyable. miserable is my word for it.

Although the past month and a half has been brutal on me, the things I’ve learned and taken away I would’ve never learned by being at home no matter how long  journey is over here.

Communication, complacency, patience, hardwork no matter what comes your way and staying true to what your doing and not bailing the first time it gets hard; as well as many others. Your probably thinking I’m sure you can learn that here in the states but when you get taken out of your comfort zone in America and put into another country, unfamiliar with cultural barriers and what not it becomes overwhelming at first.

I might not know what my future is about to hold. I might not know what will happen tomorrow. I know what I want to happen but in reality all we can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep moving no matter how hard, how heavy our heart is, or how much our mind keeps racing with thoughts. Keep moving. Keep working at it then you can’t say you didn’t try or give it your all if it fails.

We have about 200 miles left to hike from Leon to Santiago. From there we will go to Mehas for debrief before heading to Morocco for the next month.

I want to thank everyone who has prayed for me, supported me, and encouraged me through this journey in my life right now. The hope is to impact as many lives as I can in a short amount of time I have here in the countries I end up at.

Signing off from Pamplona.
