All week long at training camp, we form bonds, subconsciously creating expectations of what our perfect team looks like. The first people we see when we wake up, the last people we see before we go to bed, and the same people we spend every moment with in between.

We hope to be on teams with people we have become closest to, but deep down we know it doesn’t work that way. As racers, we don’t fully grasp the team formation process but we do know teams are created through a lot of prayer and much consideration.

Yet we still create expectations. And for what? It won’t take long until we look back on those expectations, thanking Abba for knowing better than we ever could, for challenging us, and for pushing us to become the men and women He called us to be.

Sure, team formation day was hard. But lets be real – training camp was hard. And I can promise you the race is going to be harder.

We will be challenged to change things about ourselves that we didn’t know needed changing, we will be forced to communicate in ways we never have, and more likely than not, we will be uncomfortable.

But God never promised us a life of comfort.

I have full faith that this team is going to push each other in incredible ways. We are going to love each other through the beauty, and even harder through the mess. We are going to learn each others hearts, our pasts, our pain, and we are going to push each other to be more. More encouraging, more bold, more fearless, more loving – but ultimately, more like Jesus.

Hallelujah.

God called each of us to this journey, to these countries, to this squad. God called each of us to this team. These beautiful people make up Team Tolmaó, Greek for to have courage, to be bold and I am so excited to learn and grow on this journey together!

Our first month will be in Lebane, Serbia working with youth, staying at a local church. I ask all of you to pray for the kids we will be working with, pray for my squad as we transition to World Race life, and pray for my team – that we can learn each others hearts and love each other the way Jesus loves us.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me financially and/or prayerfully! This journey wouldn’t be possible without you.

Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog!

Only 32 more days until launch! I leave September 5th so let’s hang out before then. Coffee, lunch, ice cream – you name it. I’d love to see as many people before I go as possible.

SERBIA WE’RE COMING FOR YA.
