You may wonder what any of these past 11 months has to do with Georgia & a program called Project Searchlight?

Project Searchlight’s AIM is to BRIDGE THE GAP.

Adventures in Missions headquarters are located in Gainseville, Georgia. And many of the teachers and speakers are located here in Gainesville; also the founder of AIM Seth Barnes is leading the Project.

Bridging the GAP.

There was me before the race that was selfish, narcissistic, independent and proud of it, prideful, things were more important than people, complacent, busy, and had some serious baggage. (Don’t we all?)
    The World Race was a journey that challenged and forced me to experience no consistency, intense community, brokenness, interdependency, surrender to God in every way, and allowed me to experience true dependency day by day with the Lord.

In Matthew 9 Jesus prepares the disciples to be sent out. And then in chapter 10 Jesus sends the disciples out and gets rid of the “props” which forces them to dependency on the Holy Spirit.

God laid this on Seth Barnes’ heart as part of the vision for the World Race; to get rid of the “props” that the American culture has caused us to depend on for false security. As this happens we learn to depend on the Holy Spirit and God’s leading in every way.

Now being HOME it truly is eye opening to realize how I could very easily go back into that same person I was before. And I see more than ever how it is only by GOD’S GRACE that He has called me out of that complacent and dead lifestyle. Those things that once enslaved me have been temptations for me to fall back into but I know there is so much more life living my whole life, my whole being for JESUS.

And that’s where SEARCHLIGHT comes in- I have seen so many needs around the world, I have a passion for God, I desire to use the SKILLS and gifts GOD has given me, and I am heading towards a PLAN of execution.

This becomes my VOICE.
