I was reading Isaiah 55:8-9 the other day and this is what the Lord says to the Israelites, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

And maybe that causes some people to wonder or doubt if God even cares. But it causes me to remember Jesus’ words to his disciples.
Luke 12:25-26 ” Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worrying can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?”

Verse 28 says, “Why do you have so little faith?”

And I’ve recently really enjoyed watching birds on sidewalks or on the street eating. It reminds me of verse 24, “Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!”

And each time I see the birds eating it’s as if God says to me “Why don’t you trust me?” See how every need of even the birds is met. Trust me to meet yours.

Verse 30b says, “but your Father already knows your needs.”
And for me sometimes trust means being still and listening to His voice, sometimes it means stepping out in faith not knowing what the outcome will be, in each situation TRUST may look different.
Brennan Manning writes that “this decisive movement into a radical trust in God is a “second conversion”.

“It requires heroic courage to trust in the LOVE of God no matter what happens to us.”
