was told he had Lou Gehrig’s disease. He’s been through many tests
and they’re coming back negative but three Doctors have told him
that’s what it is. So, in the first part of June my grandparents are
taking a trip to Salt Lake City to go to the university hospital.
They’re hope is that he will be able to see a specialist and get a
definite diagnoses.
the symptoms he’s struggling with are progressing pretty rapidly.
Where it seems to be effecting him most is in his throat. He can no
longer speak and swallowing has become very difficult; he can only
eat really soft foods. My grandpa is already a skinny man and if he
doesn’t stop losing weight they’re going to want to put a feeding
tube in which could bring about even more complications. Besides all
that he just keeps getting weaker. He’s had several falls in the last
few weeks and he now has to use a walker which has been really hard
on him.
taking him to all his appointments and what not. Well, the other day
she tore something in her knee and is going to have to have surgery.
Although the surgery is minor it still makes things a little more
difficult.
Specific Prayer Requests:
-
For
my grandpa: For his peace of mind. Not being able to communicate and
not being able to get around like he’s used to has been really hard
on him. -
Safety
while traveling to Utah.
– Wisdom for the doctors in being able to diagnose him correctly.
-
Strength
for my grandma as this has been, and is really stressful for her. -
Her
knee surgery; that it would go well and the recovery would be quick. -
Please
pray for me as well. It’s been pretty hard knowing they’re going
through all this while I’m so far away.
