When I first started planning to embark on this crazy adventure, I knew that by doing so my heart would be dispersed hardcore throughout the nations of this world. I wasn't sure where, how much, for how long, when, or with who it would be dispersed among though. All I knew was that I would go and try to fulfill whatever needs I saw arise and befriend as many I came into contact with as possible. I also knew the reason why I would go and it's the same reason why I still go! I've gone to spread the good news in the gospel of my Lord and Savior! I've gone because it's what not only I, but we as a human race – even mores as Christians, have been called to do! I've gone because regardless of race, religion, financial status, etc. people deserve to be heard, loved, and told the good news! Many across the globe are ignored, silenced, hurt, rejected, and unaware of the affection of the mighty creator of the universe. Not only during these last 3 months, but everyday of my life I'm in constant contact with those that need to know the realities and meaning behind all that is in this world! Some of the people I've come into contact with while overseas these last 3 months have been malnourished babies in Guatemala, teens living on some of the toughest streets of the world in Honduras, young children and teens at an orphanage in Nicaragua – most of which actually still have families they often need to return to despite bad situations such as abuse and living on the street. I've heard squadmates tell of great miracles they witnessed such as the blind beginning to see and the lame beginning to walk. I've been blessed with food, clean water, clothing, shelter, and amazing relationships everywhere I've been in my life so far! (But many that I've met these last 3 months have not) I've been blessed by not feeling the need to huff paint thinner to get rid of hunger pains, join a gang in order to feel semi-safe, having an education, having the ability and drive to work hard for far more than mere pennies a day, and not having to worry about all that I've earned being unfairly taken from me! (But many that I've met these last 3 months have not) I've been blessed with an absolutely amazing, loving family and incredible friends back home that always show their love, support, and encouragement! (But many that I've met these last 3 months have not) This is just a glimpse of the types of people I've met, places I've gone, and things I've done/ want to accomplish through this trip so far. These people need a chance to learn, a chance to grow, a chance to be safe/healthy, and a chance to feel loved… some for the first time in their lives! This is why I've gone and plan to cont. going for as long as the Lord allows. All the people I've met throughout my life, those I've still yet to meet, YOU who are reading this blog, as well as everyone in between deserve the chance to feel God's love, experience His faithfulness, and know the self-worthiness that only comes from being a son/daughter of the most high King of the universe!
(I still need around $4,000 to meet my next deadline… PLEASE help if u can so I can cont. meeting, getting to know, and helping show God's love to amazing people around the globe!)
