The Hike of My Life

So… the B-Squad def hiked up Mt. Pacay, an active Guatemalan volcano a couple days ago. I rode a horse most of the way up, roasted marshmallows, chilled out in a cave, got some lava rocks, and then hiked back down with the group. It was an absolutely gorgeous view and def something I'm glad I could check off a bucket list, but not something I would necessarily feel the need to do again. I prob. wouldn't have been able to do it w/out the support/encouragement/helping hands of many of those on my squad but couldn't be more thankful/happy to have gotten to the top and back w/out feeling like death! haha

Here's a few pics from our journey:

Yesterday, we met our ministry contact and toured a hospital that we'll be volunteering at towards the end of the month. Today we toured a school we'll be working at, hung out at Casa Maria aka: "the grandpa house", had a big family-style dinner w/ both teams, and talked w/ our contact Louis at the coolest McD's I've ever seen. Tmr/ Saturdays are our free day we have church on Sunday and then prob. some more free time. On Monday, Team Ignite and I will begin working at Casa Jackson, which is an orphanage for malnourished babies then work in a school.

All in all, loving life in Guatemala so far! Love my team, love my squad, and love that I've been blessed w/ the opportunity to be a part of this! :o) Continued prayers on behalf of my team/squad would be much appreciated. Also, we got word that there was a landslide in Guatemala City earlier today in which at least 30 people died. No world racers are in that area so no worries about our safety is needed! But, please be praying for those that were affected.

Til next time…

… Team Ignite loves you all …
