It's almost that time in which some old things pass away, current things are put on hold, and future things will soon transpire… largely until now, my mindset has mostly been a rapid fluctuation btw excitement, a major sense of surreal-ness in both a stoked and freaked out / you gotta be kidding me! this is seriously about to happen?! sort of way as well as an almost simultaneous desire to both speed up & slow down/freeze time. haha, I know this awesome-craziness has only just begun tho! and I'm ready…

I'm sure a lot of people are wondering about where my team and I will be going and what we'll be doing while we're away. So, I'll give you some more info about it based off what I know thus far! :o) For starters, A LOT of the way this trip seems to work is not really knowing specifics until they're about to happen & being told plans knowing that they can change at almost anytime! lol So, with that said, here's a lil bit of info I have about month 1 and the general game plan for our route throughout the year, enjoy! :

Month 1: Antigua, Guatemala (launch and first ministry site)
My team Ignite & team Spittin' Image will be working together
Our ministry contact is an org. called "Mission Impact" (missionimpact.com)
I won't have many details regarding our work/housing situation until we get there. But, here is some info that I've pulled from there website. "Mission Impact is an evangelical mission agency working  in rural communities and villages in Guatemala, Central America, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded in 2004 by seasoned Guatemalan and North American missionaries, MI has grown to over 45 dedicated staff working with eight unique partner ministries in the areas of education, health, nutrition, pastoral training, leadership development, evangelism and discipleship. All of the ministries of Mission Impact are led by Guatemalans who have a call to minister and disciple their own people. North American staff serve our national missionaries and ministries

[By process of elimination, I think we'll primarily be at the discipleship home, as that is their only ministry site in Antigua.]
Discipleship Home: "Nueva Generacion (New Generation) aims to introduce young people to the truth of Jesus Christ & how He can bring meaning and hope to their lives. Luis Carlos and Julio Coy teach [Christian] character development and values classes in [public/private] junior high & high schools in Antigua and Guatemala City."
Luis Carlos: "I met a missionary woman (on short-term mission trip to el, Peten, Guatemala) who was sharing that she was there because the men were not answering God's call on their life. This broke my heart and God used this conversation to move me in the right direction. I decided that I would answer God's call and become a missionary to my own people."

Mission Impact's "Sowing Hope Child Sponsorship Program" provides children from poor Guatemalan villages the opportunity to receive a proper education sewn in Biblical truths.

Tentative travel route that has changed once and may change again in the future…
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Thailand
Cambodia
Malaysia
Unknown Asian country
Kenya
Uganda
Tanzania
Malawi

Please be praying for these countries, our ministry contacts, "Nueva Generacion", the teens & others we come across / minister to, as well as the b-squad. The time to leave is quickly approaching and there's still so much left to do & so many emotions involved for us, our family, & our friends… Also pray that everyone on our squad meets the necessary financial deadline prior to launch! For a lot of us, it's been hard… but I know the Lord has a plan for each of us and He will provide for what He's called us to do! I personally, have just met the deadline to go, but overall still need around $8,500 to remain w/ my team for more than just the first few months! If u feel led to help either click the "support me" tab to the left or get a hold of me directly for more info. I'd love to hear from you! There's also a "subscribe" button u can click to receive blog updates from the field! 🙂 Luv u guys! Thnx. for reading!
