For starters, I want to make it clear that this intro is mine but the story is not… I am merely a messenger of what some wonderful friends experienced during college. Their story is a great testament of God's love and further proof that He's still in the business of creating miracles, big and small, everyday. It goes to show that we really don't know how significant a single experience, friend, or story can become in the overall scheme of things. It also goes to show that even minor things can sometimes become far bigger and reach far more people than we could ever imagine. This is generally referred to as "the waterfall story" , hope you enjoy & that it touches you in some way.

The Waterfall Story
During college, 4 friends decided to spend the day hiking up a big mountain that ended up with a view of a huge, beautiful waterfall. The day they went however, it was extremely foggy – to the point they could barely see in front of them, and they weren't sure if it would clear up enough to see the waterfall by the time the got to the top. They talked to some ppl and were told that it was unlikely to clear up much that day, but they could still go hiking if they wanted. They really wanted to see it and were already there, so they went ahead with their plans anyway, figuring they could always come back a different day, too. The thick fog didn't let up any throughout their hike, and unbeknownst to the front couple at the time, the back couple said a short, simple prayer before they reached the top. They basically just said that despite weather problems or anything else, that day or ever, they knew God was real and believe He can do any miracle imaginable. There's nothing that too big, too small, or too crazy for Him to handle, afterall. Nothing. They said that if it was in His will for them to see that waterfall that day, that they believed He could make it happen. They didn't really think or expect it would necessarily happen, but they strongly believed that anything is possible for God.

By the time the got to the top, still nothing changed. The 4 of them were obviously kinda bummed, but they had a good day with each other and in nature, regardless. When they got to the top, they took some group pics and silly pics like "imagine the waterfall here" and joked around. After doing that for a little while, they proceeded to start their hike back down the mountain. Upon turning around to take one final look at where the waterfall was located behind a sheer thick, white blanket of fog… it happened! Wammo! God indeed showed up and proved Himself all powerful once more by parting the fog in front of the waterfall just like He had done to the Red Sea. Literally, I've seen some of the pics from that day and that's EXATLY how it looked!  There was still thick, dense fog on either side of the waterfall, with a parting just big enough to see the beautiful falls clearly. They were amazed, turned back around, and took more pics. That's when the back couple informed the first couple of the short prayer they prayed before reaching the top! After, if I remember correctly, about 10-15min. they started the trek back down the mountain once again. Only this time, when they turned around for one final look, the dense clouds of fog were in the process of covering the waterfall back up again! Just that fast…

Always remember that God meets us where we are as long as we call out to Him. God will never change, leave us, or forsake us in anyway… it's human sin & human sin alone that creates a divide btw us! But, He thankfully welcomes us back every time regardless of the amount of times or number of different ways we mess up! He even throws in awesome miracles, big and small, on a daily basis so we can see our faith is not in vain. Praise God!!!

Near the beginning of the blog, I said that we never know how big even the smallest things can become. Well long story short, my friend Pam passed away later that year. She was there that day and one of the ppl that prayed that quick prayer about seeing a waterfall despite blinding fog, believing that it was possible. Before she passed away, she was able to share her testimony and this story to hundreds of ppl at school and prob. several others. Since then, countless more ppl have cont. to hear this story and cont. to be pointed to our wonderful heavenly Father b/c of it. Nobody could've dreamed at the time just how many ppl it would reach.

R.I.P. Pamela: Thanks so much for being such a sweet friend and such a great example of how a Christian should live. Always in our hearts and minds, you'll never ever be forgotten! I can't wait to see you again one day!
