Support Update

Hello all!  I am now less that five weeks away from leaving for the World Race! August 11 can’t come soon enough! Yet preparations aren’t done. The wonderful folks at Adventures in Missions keep reminding us that it’s okay- nay, even necessary- to ask for money to support us in this ministry. I’m pretty bad at that! I just want people to give if they feel led, and if not, well, okay. But just living is expensive, isn’t it? Not many material things come free. 

 

And while God will provide for us, following His call isn’t cheap, either. The church is still figuring out how the fundraiser went, but I still need quite a bit more money to reach my goal of $15,000!

 

Here are the deadlines I need to meet that are coming up:

 

July 20th– $8,000 (which is almost 60% of the total)

 

November 1st– $11,000 (about 80%)

 

February 1st, 2010– $13,800 (That’s the cost for AIM. The extra $1,200 is going towards vaccination costs and travel to our starting point and getting home once it’s all over!)

 

Some of us are called to go out unto the nations. Some of us are called to help send those who are going.

 

If you would like to support me in this, there are a few ways you can do this. You can support me via a one-time gift or monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.

1.  Click on the Support Me! link in the upper left hand of the screen (five under the “About Me” link).

 

2.  If you’d like to send in a check, that’s easy, too!

     Just make the check payable to Adventures in Missions.

But…$15,000 is a big number. It’s kind of overwhelming, isn’t it? Yet, as my mom always asks, “How do you eat an elephant?”    (In case you don’t know, the answer is “One bite at a time,” not “You don’t” as I once answered!)

Here are some bite-sized chunks:

           If five people pledged to donate $50 a month

       and ten people pledged to donate $20 a month

 and twenty people pledged to donate $10 a month

       that would be $10,200. That’s actually a little bit over what I still need!

 

 

Please consider helping me go on this exciting journey! God’s got big things planned, and I’d like to be able to see this through to the finish. (Yes, we will get sent back if we don’t raise sufficient funds! Since AIM is a non-profit, they don’t have enough money floating around to fill in the gaps we aren’t able to fill ourselves.) I’m trusting God and doing my part to raise this money. God will give me the funds I need.
