When there is injustice in the land the fire rises.

When the young child wakes up the nightmare of torture the Fire rises.

Let there not be apathy in the land so the fire can rise.

When a man ceases to be a man and becomes a monster the fire rises.

When the innocent live in terror the fires rises.

May my fire rise so fear can turn on those who use it to prey on the fearful.

May my fire rise so Love can implement the demands of justice giving power to the powerless.

May my fire rise so Justice can correct all that stands against love.

When there are no screams in the night my fire will cease to rise.

When the captives are liberated may my fire no longer need to rise

When the Kingdom is manifested on Earth as it is in Heaven may fire rest

Until that day comes the fire will rise

In “The Dark Knight Rises” the villain has a motto “The Fire Rises” as a way to inspire his followers during the film we see it is Batman’s fire that must rise. At his lowest point he is attempting to be the concept of “Batman” while not realizing that he has lost his drive to be Batman. But while trapped in a prison designed to break a man’s spirit and body, he rediscovers his passion for justice, his passion for his city, his fear of dying while there is still a difference to be made.

For the past few months I have worked with Kingdom Dreams to implement several Searchlight conferences. There I have met with racers coming back from the field full of passion and stories that broke their heart. It was through these experiences that the Lord began to remind me to stoke my fire constantly, to remember the stories of those trapped in injustice – stories of those trapped waiting for those who hear their cries and come to their aid.

While on the race I saw God do many things in the lives of so many individuals. I saw Him come through and rescue so many people. I was able to be a part of this, in no small part due to the prayers, encouragement, and financial support of you all back in America.

So I thank you.

During my time in America I have tried to seek out my next steps. At first I thought I would be going back to the field as a part of an anti-trafficking initiative, but the Lord seems to be pulling me in a different direction. For now I know I need more focus. I need to be discipled more intensely. While I had known my goal of fighting human trafficking in many ways, like Batman, I had forgotten my passion behind it and my desire to be missional with my life.

During this next season as my time In Kingdom Dreams draws to a close, I have committed to a three-month term at the Center for Global Action (CGA http://www.adventures.org/GlobalAction/), a mission training school at Adventures in Missions.”)  I plan to attend for at least 3 months (unless the Lord calls me to stay longer). There I will get a chance to step into life-giving community and engage risk-based discipleship as well as develop myself, my dream, and my calling. Following my time at the CGA, I hope to be working in a ministry that is focused on human trafficking in Atlanta.

As I seek out the Lord in these next steps I pray that you will continue to follow me through this blog, support me with your prayers and even consider supporting me financially. I would need $600 a month and if you wish to give digitally you may do so here.  I am praying you would consider supporting me monthly.

I look forward to where God might be bringing each of us in his dream of bringing the kingdom to earth.
