Hey friends and family!

The first month out here on the race was AMAZING. It is unreal how everything happened. We were blessed to be where we were and working with who we were. The 3 main people we worked with were Rhayan, Mike, and Emil.

They are all ambitious men of God, working to further the kingdom in the Philippines. Their ministry has three main facets to it:

1.) a women’s clinic which is led by Mike’s wife, Natalie

2.) a church service on Sunday morning for the villagers out in the mountains

3.) and kids camp which focuses on spreading the gospel to street boys

Here are some of my favorite pictures from this month that I took.

This is Alvin (left) and Martin (right). They are two of the street boys from Cubao that came to camp both weekends we were there. I have a funny experience with Alvin. On one of our free days we were heading to see some waterfalls at Laguna we ran into him and some of his friends in front of McDonald’s. So we bought them some food and they guided us to the bus station which looked bizarre. These boys are looked down upon in society, so to see them walking with Americans was definitely out of the ordinary.

This is me with Ehman, Tidus, Noy, and Emil (left to right). These guys were definitely my favorie part of the Philippines. I will definitely miss hearing them say “whoa”, “wow”, and “he’s a maaaann”.

This is Brown. He is also from the streets of Cubao. Yes, he is pretending to eat a crab. I took this when we went to the river with the boys.

This is a sign I started working on. Unfortunately, I couldn’t complete it because it got vandalized like 3 days in a row.

I loved the Philippines and the people there. Just looking through the pictures reminds me of memories I’ve already forgotten. It was an amazing first month on the race and I hope to have many more like it.
