Since the race started 4 months ago, the word revival has really been weighing heavily on my heart. I long to see the family of God rise up and be what God intended when Jesus purchased our very lives on the Cross. I want so badly to see hearts changed, darkness pierced, cities transformed, captives being set free and for the broken hearted to fall in love with their faithful Creator.
The knowledge of His presence alone would suffice us for all of eternity and that gazing upon His very being would be the reason for life itself. That Jesus alone would be the treasure we so desire to where it is no longer a sacrifice to give it all away, because He first gave it all away.
Jesus has been showing me that the key to revival is Love, that Love is what transforms a person from the inside out and that Love alone will start a revival. For God so Loved the world that He gave His only Son, it was because of Gods great Love the biggest revival in the history of the world occurred.
The Word of God transforms people's utterly broken and miserable lives of self seeking and people pleasing to resting in the assurance of the only One that has ever mattered. God has been showing me that to change the world we need to start within, the revival starts within the family of God, it starts with just one person, just one spark.
As Christians, we have a terrible reputation, we are more known for being judgmental hypocrites than we are for our Love. This shouldn't be the case at all, we should be the least prideful and most loving selfless people to ever walk the face of the earth.
We need a growing revelation of Jesus and not just a superficial religion that no one wants. If people look at our lives and they are the exact same as theirs than they don't want what we have. The Bible tells us that God is Love, when we are born again the Holy Spirit lives inside of us, Love lives inside of us! True Love is loving someone even after they hurt you, True Love makes you stand out, True Love is giving the world a glimpse of Jesus.
At the very core of the biggest revival in the history of the world was intimacy. Without intimacy, True Love can not coincide. Jesus and the Father have such an intimate relationship that everything they do spills over into and from Love, They are Love!
I feel like for the last 7 months of the race God is wanting me to strive for deeper intimacy, way deeper than I ever thought humanly imaginable. So that's going to be my theme, what I strive for everyday, a deeper intimacy with the Father through the Son and when this happens the only rightful action will be an overflow of Love which in turn can start a revival.
Transformed minds will transform lives, transformed lives will transform people, transformed people will transform cities.
