Hey everyone! So I will soon be writing a blog describing my thoughts, feelings, etc. about my month in Galway, Ireland. But in the meantime, I wanted just to write a real quick blog updating you on what’s going on right now. I have spent the last month in Galway, Ireland (Probably the best city in Ireland) and am now writing this as I sit on a bus headed to the Dublin airport. Once reaching the airport, we will be reunited with a few teams that were working near Dublin this month, hang out at the airport for a few hours, and then board a plane headed to Bucharest, Romania. In Bucharest, we will be reunited with the teams that were in Eastern Europe (Romania, Moldova, Czech Republic) this month. On Tuesday, we will leave for ministry, and I will either be staying in Bucharest, headed to a different city in Romania, or headed to Moldova. But between now and Tuesday, we will spend a couple days together as a squad.

Now these couple days together as a squad are actually quite important for us. Allow me to quickly explain. For the first four months on the race, we have had 3 wonderful squad leaders (Kyla, Janina, and Kim). They are former World Racers who hang with us for four months to make sure we don’t die (ok so it’s much more than that but you get the idea). Sadly, after four months, they head home. So at the beginning of Month Four (that’s now), three or four members of the squad are raised up to become the new squad leaders. During Month Four, these people will hang with the current squad leaders to become trained. Due to these three or four people leaving their teams, other people in the past three months leaving their teams to head home, along with any “team chemistry”/”God says so” reasons that the squad leaders might see, team changes may occur. In other words, some of us might be headed to Romania/Moldova on Tuesday with completely different people than we lived life with for these past three months. Now obviously, we all know each other on the squad so it’s not quite so dramatic. But nonetheless, these people on our team are who we do life with, who we are held accountable by, who we are vulnerable with, who God uses to move in our lives. So these changes can be quite significant. And even though we all trust God’s timing and plans, emotions could be flowing. So I ask for your prayers. Pray for the continued wisdom of the squad leaders to make these decisions; pray for continued faith of us to trust God in these decisions.

With that being said, I realize I haven’t said “thank you” recently. So thank you. Thank you for the prayers I know you’ve prayed over the past three months. Thank you for all the support you have given me (both financial and emotional). Thank you for allowing God to use you to bless me in this time.

So there you have it. That’s the current scoop. Be sure to stay tuned for my “Ireland wrap-up” blog which should be out within the next day or so. And also stay tuned for my update on the team change scenario.
