Have you ever truly worshipped God? I thought I had until Monday night of training camp. That night,
Jonathan David Helser was leading worship, and he started singing “Holy Spirit come.” Guess what? Holy Spirit came. The Spirit of God fell upon that place that night, and we began truly to worship God. People praying for each other, people shouting out praise to God, people on their face before the great God of the universe. What was awesome was that
Michael Hindes was actually planning on giving a talk on the Holy Spirit that night. Obviously no longer necessary. It was as if the Holy Spirit was like, “Hey look, Michael, you’re a great speaker and all, but I think I”m gonna introduce myself tonight instead.” Haha. Isn’t God awesome? So anyways, praying for people, etc, and then suddenly, Jesus dance party broke out. People worshipping God by DANCING. I’ve never seen nor experienced so much freedom in worship. Long story short, we worshipped Jesus through song and dance for over 3 hours. Incredible!
For me, it was such an awesome night of experiencing freedom from fear of man. Breaking free from caring about what other people thought. God gave me the boldness to be obedient in praying for someone else that night. And eventually, He gave me the boldness to dance for Him in worship. My God is so much bigger than all and so worthy of all of my praise.
For God gave us a spirt not of fear, but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7
My boy,
Daniel Durick, made an awesome video of what went on that night.
