Hey everyone!
So this is my first real blog post in awhile! Sorry about that! Next week is training camp so I’m sure I’ll have plenty of things to blog about with that. And then a month later, I’ll be flying to Haiti to begin my journey! And of course, once that begins, there’ll just be a cornucopia of blog posts! A blogging extravaganza!!
So anyways………back to my original intention for this post. By the way, do you like all of my big words? I’m a college graduate now!! Woo!!
So anyways………seriously back to my original reason for this post…..
First, I wanted to thank everyone who has been supporting me in prayer as I prepare for the World Race. These past few months have been trying at times, but overall, God has used this time to grow me. My faith has been increased; my dependency on Him has increased; my realization for my desperate need for Christ has increased. I would love if you continued to pray for me as I draw closer to leaving on my trip. As I mentioned before, next week is training camp. I’ll get to meet all of my teammates! Yay! Pray for the start of strong community. Pray that God will use that time to prepare us further for His purpose over these next 11 months. Also, pray for protection. I’ve definitely felt the attacks of the enemy over the past month. Particularly financially. But I know that that just means that God is going to grow me in amazing ways and use me in amazing ways during the World Race.
Second (part 1), I wanted to thank everyone who has supported me financially. I currently have about $5700 in my account, not counting a few monthly pledges. It has been awesome to see how God has provided so far. BUT I still have a ways to go. I have to have $8500 in my account before I can step on the plane to Haiti. I have to have the full $14,300 six months into my trip. If you feel God calling you to support me financially, you can donate online by clicking on the link on the left that has the words “money” and “support” in it. OR if you want to donate by mailing in a check( and that’s the best way because then no processing fees are taken out. And seriously, who wants to give money to the banks or credit card companies?) then hit me up through email at [email protected] and I can give you the info on how to do that.
Second (part 2), recently, I’ve realized another financial need besides the $14,300 I have to raise. While the $14,300 covers A LOT, it doesn’t cover a decent amount of pre-race stuff that has to be done. I have to buy equipment, get vaccinations, buy international health insurance, etc. The costs of that add up to probably around $2000. Not to mention I have normal people stuff to pay for like rent, utilities, gas, food, etc. I know God is going to provide for everything since He has called me to this trip. So yeah, there you have that. Hopefully, more frequent blog posts (well meaningful posts with words, not just those support update charts I do all the time haha) will be following this one.
