The day has come! This is my bag/home for a year! 40 pounds….
This is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made, I will rejoice, I will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it…this is the day that the Lord has made! (Fun song eh?) I like it! :>)
I am getting on a plane in a matter of hours now and I will leave what I have always known-my comfortable life.
People keep asking me, Robby are you excited, and Robby are you nervous, really Robby…what are you? Ha-ha, I don’t even know what right now what I am. It is surreal. I honestly can’t picture a whole year of my life doing this. I know that I can somewhat vision Peru and after that, I have no clue. I have said ‘see you later’ to many of you over the phone and personally and have voiced what I have felt about y’all. It isn’t that I think I will die, I just believe people need to know what someone thinks of them sometimes and the good they see in people. Isn’t that what we really should always be doing anyways, encouragement? So, if I didn’t get a chance to talk to you personally, I apologize. I really wish I could have. Time hasn’t been on my side lately. Just know right now that I love you a ton if you are reading this. Even if I don’t know you, I still love you…it is the unconditional love of Christ I am able to do such a thing.
I am a broken man, someone who is not perfect by any means and has struggles with life. I hope that you see me as that…just a man trying to serve the Lord in this amazing way. His grace and love has lead me to this amazing journey that I am embarking on. God is so faithful always and He keeps proving Himself to me all the time through simple things.
Next, I pray that you will follow me through this next year of blogs. I really do not know what I will experience, how God will show himself to me, but I do know that I am ready to be a changed person for the better! I also pray that you will see the Lord do amazing things and that it will challenge your faith as well. I pray that this New Year, the Lord will bring to you an abundance of joy, hope, faith, and mostly love.
Trust the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. That is something I will lean on constantly. I know that just because I am doing this, doesn’t mean my life will be easy, I expect anything but easy. I am sure there will be tears, sweat, blood, laughter, joy, all emotions. I am sure there will be days when I feel so lonely- but I know that you will be back here praying for me- I am sure that I will struggle with things because again, I am human and a battle that I face a lot is my trust in the Lord…believe or not. This, He always tells me to do…trust me Robby! So, here I go around the world, trusting Him daily. If not, then I will be lost.
Next, PRAISE IS TO GOD!
I have now raised my full amount of fundraising with your financial support through giving what you have and also the pledges throughout the year. God has BLOWN me away! It is so cool to watch who God has been using and how he keeps providing…He keeps teaching me…trust! I am the Alpha and Omega, your Provider!
Thank you all for your prayer support- this is crucial and our team will need it daily. To bathe us in your prayers, wow- it is truly incredible. Thank you!
If you ever have any prayer request, I hope that you will email me. I would love and my team would love to pray for you guys. I may not be able to get back with you, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t read it. Also, I would love to read throughout the year of what is going on in your life. I just need it, I know it already. I want to still be a part of your lives and I am so excited to see what goes on in 2008.
Well, here I go. I leave tomorrow for Peru. I leave in hours for Florida to meet the team again. I am PUMPED! Thanks for being a part of my life and always supporting me with your love! Know you will always be with me around the world! Expect blogs, pictures, and hopefully videos this upcoming year and I pray it will reach the depth of your soul and God will reveal himself like crazy!
Have a great week! God Bless and THANKS!
Robby
Matthew 28:19-20
“Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
