Here are some pictures of the people and places I came to know last month in Honduras…

Here is a view of the Heart of Christ ministry from the second floor porch.  This is where we lived and worked the past month.

These boys are the three toddlers that live at the ministry.  Their names from left to right are Alejandro, Diego, and Moises.  The mothers of Alejandro and Diego used to live at Heart of Christ, but they ran away, abandoning both boys.  Moises was born with a large mass of fatty tissue on the side of his body causing his mother to abandon him.  He underwent surgery to remove the mass and it went successfully, praise God!  It has been such a joy to get to know these boys and to love on them.  They have been through more than I can imagine in their short lives.

These are the two mothers that live at Heart of Christ along with their babies.  Their names are Milagros and Michelle and their babies’ names are Genesis and Katherine.  They are so young, Milagros is 16 and Michelle is 14, and they are both victims of rape.  It saddens me to think of all they have been through.  Thankfully they were taken in by Heart of Christ and taught about God’s love for them.  One night, a 14-year old rape victim named Ivi was dropped off at the ministry for the night and Milagros was able to share her testimony with her.  It was so powerful to witness…Milagros used her testimony to tell Ivi that she wasn’t alone and that their is hope for her.

This little boy, Christopher, is so special.  His mother ran away from the ministry one of our first days here leaving him here.  There is a chance she may get him back, but it won’t be for a while if she does.  He is so small for his age…I think this is due to his mother using drugs when she was pregnant with him.  He is such a joyful baby though.  He runs around the compound squealing in his little squeaky voice and comes up to your legs and begs to be picked up.  He’s wiggled his way into a lot of our hearts!

The two pictures above are of some people that we were able to pray for and visit with while out in the villages.  The first picture is of Mercedes and her children, Orlando, Davy, Juan, and Emy.  We were able to visit them multiple times and learned through our visits that Mercedes has cancer and Emy has some health issues as well.  Davy also has Downs Syndrome.  Despite all of their challenges, they are a very sweet family and always blessed us when we visited.  Orlando even cried when we said goodbye which made us all tear up as well!  The second picture is of a sweet old lady we were able to visit several times.  She was very hard to understand, but we still prayed for her and blessed her as we could.

And finally, here is a picture of me and the team that I am serving with.  I am so thankful that I am able to go on this journey with these ladies!

Thank you everyone for reading and for thinking of and praying for me!
