We can’t believe that another month has gone by.  Here are some photos from our time in Costa Rica

Here is our contacts vehicle that we piled into every time we went anywhere.  This photo is from our first night when he picked us up.  We had 8 racers, 8 large packs, 8 back packs, and our contact in his car that seats 5 people.  Needless to say it was a bit crammed.

This pic was taken after our first day of work in the rain forest where we chopped down trees.

We worked for a few days building stairs that led up to a sanctuary that will be built in the woods.  It was lots of heavy lifting and digging!

We spent many hours in the field weeding.  Where were many areas where there were trees growing in the aisles that we had to cut down with the machetes.

Our contact made our food for us.  This is what we had for breakfast one morning.  It was pretty good.

We also worked with kids on the weekends helping run VBS programs.  It was a lot of fun.  In this picture is our team leader Kevin playing duck duck goose.

We did puppet shows when working with the kids.  They seemed to really enjoy it.

It wasn’t all work and no play.  Rick and I were able to go to the local volcano called Arenal.  It was beautiful!

We also had a great time at a worship celebration in a large stadium in San Jose.

It was a colorful and lively celebration in the stadium.  There were hundreds of people were on the field dancing and waving flags.

We hope you enjoy our photos.  We hope to share more with you as time goes on.

Thanks for reading our blog!  God bless!
