There’s something special about the Finca. The Holy Spirit is very much alive and active and present here. When you walk through the gates you feel safe, protected, and peaceful. Even though gun shots ring outside, no fear is found here.

Our host Mark said that someone asked once how they got the funds for the Finca and all he said was “God gave them the Finca” God provide the money and that was all there was to it.

Today Mark and Meg went to a trial to fight for the Finca. Someone was claiming that the Finca and a bunch of other property around it was actually his. The only defendant to show up to the trial were Mark and Meg. The judge basically told the guy that if he can’t get more defendants to show up, he’s throwing the case out because it’s a waste of his time.

Two days before we got to Los Guido, the recycling plant behind the Finca burnt down. I knew it had burnt down, but I hadn’t realized how recently.

I was able to go behind the Finca and had a chance to see just how close it got. It got REALLY close.

It is literally AT the property line.

There’s a tree that is half on the Finca property and half on the recycling plant property. Half of it is dead and burned, and the other half is alive and thriving. You can see the line where the fire stopped.

If you look on the wall dividing the two properties you can see scorch marks and moss nearly side by side.

The location of the fire, made it all the worse.

They had to call in multiple fire stations to bring hoses to get water from the nearest hydrant (which is about a 10 minute walk away). When the hose was finally long enough and set up, and the water was turned on, the water pressure was so low that the water barely dribbled out.

This means that the fire was left blazing for many hours.

Mark told us that you couldn’t even touch the back wall of the gym because it was that hot.

All they were physically doing was having Juan hose the back of the gym down with the garden hose. A garden hose.

Mark and the church community, however, were busy praying! They never prayed for the building itself, he said. He told is the presence of god is very much here in the Finca. As they prayed they asked God if he would let the enemy invade his very presence.

There’s this line where the fire stopped- we believe it was where the warrior angels were defending against the fire and against the enemy.

They were expecting to have to at very least repaint the back wall when all was said and done, but they didn’t even need to do that!

That’s the very hand of God!

Mark told us that someone had asked what they were going to do with the World Race group coming in a couple of days, if something happened to the gym.  His response was to tell them not even to say that when they were praying for the opposite thing

The enemy didn’t want us here.

The enemy doesn’t want the Finca here.

But our God is so much bigger than he is!
