God is so much bigger than we give Him credit for. I realize this on a daily basis. My most recent obsession has been ants. Those teeny tiny little red ants that are
everywhere. I realized the other day
just how remarkable they are. My
obsession started when I was at work one day before the race. I was sweeping off a sidewalk after it had
rained. There were tons of little red
ants on the sidewalk and so I swept them into the flower bed which was filled
with rain. I was sure the ants would
just die, after all, I was sweeping them into a huge puddle of water. To my surprise, I looked down and saw the
ants were climbing back on the sidewalk. I got down on my knees and watched. I swept the ants off of the porch and into the water. The ants that I swept into the water began to
SWIM through the water to the porch. I
did this several times to make sure I hadn’t truly lost my mind. Nope, they were actually swimming. I watched them swim with their tiny little
legs and was simply fascinated by how much God loves the ants that He even
equipped them to be able to swim! Now
fast forward several months to Phuket Thailand. I am laying in bed spending time with the
Lord when I realize there are tons of tiny red ants in our bedroom. I start watching them, mainly to just find
out where exactly they are coming from. I realize there is an entire system at work that I cannot even figure
out. Each little ant has its own mission
and task and the ultimate mission and task cannot be accomplished without each
one of those tiny ants. This makes me
again realize how magnificent and incredible and superbly fabulous and creative
our God is! Again I realize how powerful
and strong and mighty our Savior is. Each one of us is a tiny red ant. We each have our own personal task to accomplish before the greater
mission can be achieved. Not one of us
can be counted out or the entire mission is thrown off course. I look at my team. There are seven of us who each individually
struggle with strongholds and who God is doing seven different things
with. On top of that, each one of us has
been given a crucial task in God’s amazing plan and each one of us must
complete the task given in order for us as a team to function according to the
will and plan of God. Separately we are
simply running around trying to figure out what is going on. But together, together we bring completed
tasks and we began to put together the pieces of God’s puzzle. I look
at our squad and I see the very same thing. We each work super hard in the areas God has called us to and
independently or even broken down into several teams, we are accomplishing the
tasks at hand. But we must all come
together as a whole to accomplish the ultimate mission God has planned. I think of the squad mates who still lack
financial support. We cannot accomplish
the mission God has set before us without every single “tiny ant” helping
out. We must search within ourselves as
well as outside to hear what it is God wants our personal task to be in this
matter. I put out a challenge to fellow
racers. We must work together in
this. I challenge each person who is
fully funded or who is close to being fully funded. I challenge you to spend no personal money
over the next 3 months. I challenge you
to instead put the money you would have spent aside. I challenge you to at the end of each month,
to come together with your teammates who are also setting aside money, and as a
team, to make a financial donation to the squad mate God has put on your heart
for the month. I also challenge those
who read my blogs. I ask you to closely
look at the task the Lord has given you. Prayerfully consider if God is asking you to give financially. If He is, I ask you to pray about donating to
the following people: David Williams, Anna Coffey, Kara Frate, Amanda Hamilton,
Noah and Cathy Zelvis. If God has not
called your task to be financially giving, then I ask you to take up the task
of praying for the financial support of these squad mates. Every one of us is called to be part of God’s
amazing plan, we simply must take up our role and complete the task.
