ets of Bangla road. At night, we break into groups and visit the bars on Bangla road. We visit the open bars and talk to the girls working there. We play games like Jenga, Connect Four, and Jackpot. This is how we are able to build a relationship with the girls. Once we have built a relationship with the girls and have found favor with owners and managers, we are able to talk a little more and be able to share with them about SHE. We invite the girls to the SHE house for lunch and allow them the opportunity to speak to girls who live and work at SHE and to learn all about SHE. After this, the option has been placed in front of the girls and those who wish to come to SHE are more than welcome and those who decide not to, we just believe God will continue to pursue them.
We each go to the bars as often as we feel the Lord leading us. I personally spend 6 nights a week out. I love it. I love knowing that God is pursuing these women and I love praying for the men as we are out. I am very grateful for last month, had I not had last month, I
would not have the compassion or grace for the men that the Lord has now given me. I no longer look at the men as though it is their fault and I am not angry at them, rather I pray for their salvation and healing of this sin they have been living in. I pray God changes their hearts and I declare freedom over each of their lives. I realize they are just as lost, if not more so, than the women. My passion is definitely with the women and specifically the “lady boys”. Lady boys are men who have or have not, had surgeries to become women. Some of them have the female body parts, some do not. Some only dress like women while others, well it would be hard to tell they are not women. There is a street completely dedicated to them. It is a huge spectacle where people gather and stare, gawk, laugh, make fun of, and have their pictures taken. It truly breaks my heart. I pray God will break the confusion that is filling them, I pray they will seek acceptance only by our Lord and Savior. I pray they find true love in Christ.
I am so grateful the Lord has chosen to bring my team here. I am so grateful God goes before us and comes after us as we walk into these bars. Each street is different and has its own “demons”. We walk these streets in the day and it’s amazing how different they are at night. God’s angels are all around.
Each one of us must face our own sins before ever stepping into a bar. There are people who are dealing with ungodly self righteousness, selfishness, pride, lust, anger, comparison, and judgment. We each must look in the mirror and call out these things so we are not walking in them. We must be unified and must truly be out to serve one another if we are going to do this ministry together. This is not a time to NOT choose in. The enemy knows how to attack us to try to keep us from uniting. He knows how powerful we are when we stand together in Christ. We must constantly be aware of that.
