Happy 11/11! I am celebrating with a post from my 11n11 adventure. Here's what life was like in Tanzania, 10 months into serving in 11 countries in 11 months…

Sometimes we wake up and there is no water because the neighborhood has used it all.

Sometimes we walk down the street and random people touch us in weird ways.

Sometimes when people ask if we know Obama we just say, "yes."

Sometimes I actually wash my hair.

Sometimes we show up to church and halfway through worship someone walks up and asks who can preach today.

Sometimes when I picture my car at home I can't remember which side the steering wheel is on.

Sometimes the power goes out beause we've run out of credit. So we just send a text message to the power company to buy more electricity.

Sometimes African children are frightened to the point of tears at the very sight of our white skin.

Sometimes nothing can cheer me up like a cold Passion Fruit Fanta from Mama J's corner store.

Sometimes we put on our cutest dresses, and go all out with the hair and makeup just to feel like girls again.

Sometimes when African men start yelling at me in public I just yell back at them. It's effective.

Sometimes I see spiders so big I wonder if I'm actually in a horror movie.

Sometimes I feel like I left Indy yesterday.

Sometimes I feel like I left forever ago.

Sometimes I can't wait to go home.

Sometimes I'm not sure if when I'm at home I'll ever feel "at home" again.

Sometimes I can't believe I ever wondered if this lifestlye would be worth it.

*Sometimes I can't believe I'm getting the chance to go back out on the field and lead a new generation of world racers! If you'd like to support me in my continued ministry, click here
